Here’s a few frequently asked questions about getting married in Hawaii.
Marriage License

Step 1. Apply online at http://health.hawaii.gov/vitalrecords/marriage-licenses/
Step 2. Call (808) 586-4544 to make an appointment to pickup your license.
Step 3. Both parties need to pickup in person at The State of Hawaii Licensing Bureau, located at 1250 Punchbowl Street.
Step 4. Give license to Officiant on wedding day.
TO APPLY IN PERSON. The State of Hawaii Licensing Bureau, located at 1250 Punchbowl Street, can be reached at (808) 586-4544. The current fee is USD $60.00 and must be paid in cash.
TO APPLY ONLINE: http://health.hawaii.gov/vitalrecords/marriage-licenses/. The current fee is USD $65.00.

You can apply and obtain a marriage license the same day. You can pre-apply for the license within one year of the wedding date. The marriage license is good for 30 days from and including the date or its issuance.

The State of Hawaii will issue a temporary copy of the marriage license which can be downloaded online within a few days of the ceremony. You will then receive a certified copy of your marriage license by mail within 120 days of your wedding. If you need a certified hard copy of your marriage license sooner, you can go online to request the copy or contact the Department of Health (808-586-4544) for more information.
Reservations

After you have selected one of our venues, wedding date and time of ceremony, one of our reservation agents will email you a proposal/contract. Due to our high interest in our properties, dates and venues are not officially held or confirmed until a 50% non-refundable deposit and signed contract is received. Once the signed contract and deposit is received, you will receive a confirmation 24-48 hours officially confirming your booking.

After we’ve received your signed contract and 50% non-refundable deposit, one of our on-site ceremony specialists will contact you via email to start the exciting process.
Ceremony

The ceremony takes around 15-20 minutes depeding if you include personal vows. The remainder of the time is for photography/videography purposes.

The pew and altar decorations may be removed, however a $250 service charge will be applied. Floral arrangements may be used provided prior approval has been obtained. The delivery time and set-up must be coordinated with the Ceremony Coordinator. Decorations cannot be affixed to any surface in the Chapel. Client assumes full responsibility for the removal of all floral arrangements and decorations provided by Client from the Chapel. We do ask that everything is ready to be placed and ready to go. There is a small 30 minute window between Reservation Times to clean up and get ready for the next party. If there is NO event before yours it should be fine to setup a little early before your contracted time.

Yes, it is okay if you want to have your own officiant! If your marriage performer is registered with the state of Hawaii, they can conduct your ceremony and file your legal paperwork. Most often we have a "dual officiant" ceremony. Especially if your officiant is not registered as a marriage performer with the State of Hawaii. Your officiant will do the vows and ring exchange and then our officiant can perform the Hawaiian elements, pronouncement and file your marriage license.

Yes, you may use your own vendors for your ceremony provided that they have liability insurance. We do ask that you provide your on-site ceremony specialist with all vendors contact information so she may inform them of our rules, regulations and time schedule in order to make sure your day runs smoothly.

You will have a 30 minute rehearsal right before your ceremony. You will receive a timeline prior to your wedding and we will conduct a rehearsal walk thru right before your ceremony. If you feel more comfortable having a more extensive rehearsal on a separate day, we would be more than happy to schedule one for you for an additional fee.
Reception

Your final food & beverage order is due in 30 days before your event. This ensures that the Chef has ample time to order all of the necessary ingredients for your menu. Modifications to the food & beverage order will not be possible after the final order is placed.

You can bring in your own decorations but it is not necessary as the tables do have some decor.

Yes, you can bring in and place your own decorations. We do ask that everything is ready to be placed and ready to go and no installations or attachments to the wall. There is a small 30 minute window between Reservation Times to clean up and get ready for the next party. If there is NO event before yours it should be fine to setup a little early before your contracted time.

Our standard reception time is 2 hours for our semi-private and private rooms.

Yes! Whether you are having a wedding on the beach in Waikiki or at a chapel on the island, our wedding reception only option is available.

Yes, the Marble Room is perfect for your formal reception.
Our Private Room and Semi-Private Room are more to have a great meal and too small for dancing.
